We had our wedding here Saturday 10th of may. The pelican’s staff did a superlative job. All the decorations and setting, just beautiful and classy. The food was unbelievable, tasty, and perfectly executed. The manager, Dan, was the perfect host for the day, very attentive and professional, all our guests loved him. The most delicious limoncello spritz, very colourful and fresh, made the perfect match with the venue and the vibe. We can’t thank you enough for making us feel special and loved on our magical day.

Fantastic that the Pelican has started doing lunches. A very simple menu, but one that has something for everyone - Club sandwich, ploughman’s, lasagna, Caesar salads etc. I had the club sandwich which was massive, but delicious!! Bar menu and service is brilliant and we have loved coming for the pop-ups in the evening too. All in all a wonderful pub

We got a booking at last minute on Thursday evening. Welcoming staff showed us to our table but never asked did we want a drink? Surely in a pub that's the first question. Menu quite limited but other pub was too so maybe they are all cutting down the choices. Burger was pretty good though a bit more coleslaw would have been good. Mrs had the curry which wasn't quite as good as she hoped but edible. Prices much the same throughout the eateries in Chew Magna.

Ordered the steak with Rosemary chips. Took a while to arrive, and the steak was covered in a large amount of an oily, green dressing, which totally masked the flavour of the steak. It was virtually inedible, and I left most of it, which is unusual for me! Very disappointed. The chips were OK and the staff were lovely, to be fair.

Had genuinely the best Roast I have ever had at a pub. I had the venison, my mum the duck breast and my wife the duck leg. Also had two kids roasts on top. The Food was top drawer. The sharing platter with the option for extra roasties and Yorkshires at no additional cost was brilliant. The Gravy came in buckets (posh ones ;) ) & was the best I have tasted in a pub. Genuinely stunning. Plus they did a great job with a candle in a chocolate brownie for my Mums birthday. Service also great - plus cLear head available too. So Good - We will be back.

Lovely pub and very tastefully renovated with a delicious Sunday roast from the Pony. The only criticism was the service, which was slow and orders were forgotten. We overheard several tables in our area commenting on this, so it was not unique to us.
