But i looked into the Cummins 2.8 and i learned that it was never built for the purpose of re-powering jeeps/4x4's. It was a engine that is built and used in China and even in China it has a reputation of being unreliable.It is safe to say that there is a range that most conversions fall in to. Preliminary estimates and data from all the engine conversions we’ve performed indicate that a full 2.8 AND transmission swap will start at about $40,000, parts and labor.
