Since Amazon is based on 10 hours that sounds right especially since Amazon is mostly smalls and 185 stops and 220 locations is like 22 locations an hour.No, it’s not normal, and they’re probably not running the background check. The background check is done through the flex app, so if they didn’t have you sign up for that and initiate it, it’s not getting done. I imagine it's really about lowering their liability. If someone gets hit by an Amazon van, they sue the DSP not Amazon. If a driver gets road rage and assaults another driver, they sue the DSP not Amazon. If a DA drives off the road due to driving in unsafe weather, they sue the DSP not Amazon.The biggest difference is that Amazon DSPs don't own anything, Amazon does, so Amazon can strip them of everything within a few days if they wanted. The cut contracts and drop routes all the time.
