This is our 2016 Twin Turbo V6 Dodge Challenger on our in house dyno running both 93 octane and E85. Same vehicle, same boost pressure, but a significant bump in power with the ethanol over gasoline. With use of E85 ethanol and appropriate tuning, we saw a net gain of 64 WHP & 38 WTQ over 93 octane gasoline! The gains do …I have seen on some other cars that they get better horsepower and output when running E85 through their car. What does it take to tune your car for E85 when you are not running fuel injection? I have a Holley carb and will be running around 10.5:1 compression. I was wondering if it will do any better with E85 or if I should stick with 93 octane. For a 10:1 compression engine would you go for non ethanol at 89 octane or premium 93 with ethanol? Home. Forums. Members.Well, you realistically have two choices if you don’t want to run race gas: E85 or water/meth injection. Kyle Brixey’s Trailblazer SS is no stranger to boost. E85. Since the advent of E85 in the early 2000s, people have been using it as go-fast juice due to its intrinsic knock resistance and cooling properties. Basically, E85 is cheap race gas.Better fuel mileage, higher power output, fewer emissions. NOX can be an issue, and some of the gains in lower emissions can be offset by higher emissions in production. The big issue is higher cost at the pump and availability. Most states only offer 91 octane, and in some states it is rare to find even that.Something to note, despite E85's 30% fuel economy loss, I find it runs incredibly well. The engine is smooth, acceleration is awesome. 87 octane runs, but I find the engine has a noticable difference when running it. Not "bad" but its not as smooth. 91/93 premium fuels tend to have the best of both worlds, it adds more mpg for maximum ...Most were very minor such as +/- .001 through .009 so very minimal but still scaling the effects from the alcohol versus regular fuel. I ended getting 12 gallons of E85 and mixed with the remaining 24 gallons of 93. I instantly gained about 50 torque without any other changes from my 93 tune I had.Holley just introduced these new E85 calibrated HP carburetors at the end of 2013. The sizes range from 600950 cfm and offer several new features including 20 percent larger bowl capacity, 0.130 ...On pump E85 we did just shy of 780hp at 26# on a T3 66mm. I could have easily cranked it up to 30# and let her eat, but I am worried how the stock block and crank would like that. I bought a barrel of E98 and I plan on running that out this summer - maybe for track days only. Otherwise I will be on straight pump E85.So basically 100hp less when compared to today's dyno tuning session . The methanol injection may be why I'm able to add a couple degrees of timing without knock / timing retard. 2012 CTS-V Wagon. 9.652 @ 139.10MPH (1.260 60') 2012 CTS-V Coupe 6MT (sold) 10.580 @ 135.97MPH.E85 is a fuel blend that contains 85% ethanol and 15% gasoline. The octane rating of E85 ranges from 94 to 105, which is higher than regular gasoline. This higher octane rating allows engines to run at higher compression ratios, which can result in increased power output and better fuel efficiency. Using E85 for fuel efficiency is not as simple ...I have seen on some other cars that they get better horsepower and output when running E85 through their car. What does it take to tune your car for E85 when you are not running fuel injection? I have a Holley carb and will be running around 10.5:1 compression. For the Stage 2 tune itself, we used the Bootmod3 OTS Stage 2 93 Octane file. This is the standard file, no custom tuning was done ...E85 fuel can give you a significant boost in power and torque without breaking the bank for racing fuels. It has a base octane rating of 105 and has the bonus of added cooling properties that add even more knock resistance than racing fuels with the same rating. This means that it keeps your engine timing accurate under extreme pressures so the ...E85 is, of course, the high-ethanol blend of gasoline available in many areas of the country. Its elevated ethanol content makes its relative octane rating extremely high, which in turn means that it's highly knock resistant. The downside is that the ethanol blend actually has slightly less specific energy content than gasoline, so you have ...E85 vs. 93 5th Gen Camaro SS LS LT General Discussions. You'll lose performance using 100 octane gas with a 93 tune, because there will be incomplete combustion. Another option is to add 3.5 gallons of 100 octane to 12.5 gallons of 91 octane to get a 93 octane mix. Share. The eFlexPlus E85 flex fuel kit automatically adjusts and optimizes fueling based on the E85 mix in your tank, eliminating knock and maximizing engine performance in the process. eFlexPlus is the easiest way to convert your vehicle to a true flex fuel, E85-or-Gasoline capable vehicle. You will make more power with our eFlexPlus kit, however for ...AEM. Boost in each dyno was roughly the same (Wastegate boost @ 20 psi), air-fuels were tuned for what each fuel likes (around 11.5:1 on 93 octane), and timing was roughly the same as well (+- 2 degrees). E85 runs were more heat-soaked, but still produced more power. Each dyno run had the same SAE 1.03 correction factor. The air to fuel ratio for ethanol is dramatically different from gasoline. You will need to increase your fuel injector size dramatically. For example a 43 lb injector on pump gas is roughly equivalent to a 65 lb injector running e85. You also need to have a fuel pump that can flow a much higher volume of fuel.On the evening of Monday, March 20 th at The Strip at Las Motor Speedway, Tim Kuniskis introduced the world to the 2023 Dodge Challenger SRT ® Demon 170. The results showed pump gas produced 5 hp and 9 lb-ft torque more than 110.E85 is basically race fuel, available at the pumps. E85 is a blend of 51-85% ethanol and 49-15% gasoline (varying by season) that has a significantly higher octane rating than gasoline: E85 octane ranges 100-108 while Regular Unleaded is 87 and Premium Unleaded is 91-93.Add me on IG for more random shit. @MACKBUILTCalculating injector size for a 500 horsepower normally aspirated engine on E85, we would use the 0.70 BSFC number. Including a maximum 70 percent duty cycle, this would put the injector size at 57 to 60 lbs/hr compared to gasoline's 42 lb/hr size. Comparing these two injector sizes, you can see that the E85 injector comes out to 42 percent ...During normal driving I lose about 3-4 MPG on E85 vs 93. On E85, my 5k lb car does 0-60 in 3.0 seconds and 10.8 1/4 mile times without any other mods except the tune. One HP value more than that engine on gasoline and the other less than the gasoline fueled engine.Gasoline is 14.7 and E85 is 10.0. Now that you have the "magical" factor and your base injector size, do the math. I will do one with you just to show an example. Let's say that in the Injector size selection guide size calculator, you came up with a size of 42lb injector needed to reach your HP goals. E85's higher octane helps improve the balance of air and fuel during combustion, which cuts down on the tendency for the engine to knock . 3. Flex fuel/E85 gas keeps the engine clean. Like most alcohols, ethanol is an effective cleaning agent, which means that the ...In addition to using a high-quality ethanol component, that always makes up 85 percent of the fuel, BOOSTane’s E85 uses the good stuff for the 15 percent as well. “In BOOSTane Race E85, that 15-percent is race fuel.
