Larue uu of Technology
The LaRue uses the SR25/M110 style upper receiver which uses the slant cut. LMT, KAC and others also use this. Then there is the DPMS style (sometimes called LR-308) which uses the curve cut. DPMS, Aero Precision and others use this style. Then there is the ArmaLite AR-10 style which is different than the above two.I’ve owned a few larue products. An OBR, both large and small. Two predatOBR’s and a large frame UU in 6.5. The large frame UU was the problem child. The first one I received was horrible. After assembling it the fit to the larue lower was horrible. The over all quality was pretty bad. I sent it back and they refunded me my money.I have a Larue UU kit with the stealth 2.0, it is strong as hell. I've tried pushing hard on the front of the handguard to see if it flexes, I cannot make it flex.Have a 12.5 ultimate upper for the ar15 lower but looking for what Larue options I have for the AR10 lower. As far as I can tell, the large frame lowers will only work with LaRue uppers and they aren't manufacturing any. I bought a set when they initially announced them thinking I'd pick up a 6.5 CM UU. You then set the torque wrench to your desired torque (do not compensate for the longer lever arm). M4/M16 armorer manuals have you align the barrel/castle nut tool 0 degrees in relation to the torque wrench.I have the matching LaRue lower with it too. You can get nicer barrels than a Larue but most of them are going to run a lot more. Expect to pay $400-550 for something nicer than a Larue barrel. For the money Larue is really nice.
