I have a nut/bolt combination in the lower license plate holes, with the bolt protruding about 1/4" through the nut. I put a little soft plastic cap (the type you find on the eletrical supply rack at the auto supply or hardware stores with the wire ties) and there are no more "rattles". It is an easy fix.
